Bamako Hosts Workshop on Drivers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and Worker Rights
Bamako, December 26, 2025 - A sensitization workshop for transport operators, drivers, and truck drivers opened on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Bamako International Conference Center (CICB). The session was presided over by Mr. Fassoun Coulibaly, Minister of Labor, Public Service, and Social Dialogue, and attended by Colonel-Major Assa Badiallo Touré, Minister of Health and Social Development.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among employers and workers in the transport sector about the importance of complying with the drivers’ collective bargaining agreement. Key objectives included:
Ensuring that drivers and truck drivers are registered with the INPS (National Social Security Institute).
Promoting adherence to the AMO (Mandatory Health Insurance) requirements.
Highlighting the legal and social responsibilities of employers and employees in the sector.
By combining regulatory guidance with practical advice, the initiative represents a significant step toward improving road safety, workers’ rights, and social protection for transport sector employees in Mali.
