Bamako Court Holds First Public Hearing to Strengthen Judicial Transparency

BAMAKO, May 5, 2026 - The Criminal Chamber of the 5th District Court of Bamako held its first public hearing on Monday at the courthouse, as part of ongoing efforts to reinforce the rule of law and strengthen public confidence in the justice system.

The session took place in the presence of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Keeper of the Seals, Mamoudou Kassogué, alongside senior officials from the ministry, including the Secretary General and the Chief of Staff, as well as members of the judiciary.

Officials described the hearing as a significant step in the practical implementation of recent judicial reforms, marking a transition from legislative updates to their effective application in court proceedings.

The Ministry of Justice emphasized that the initiative reflects a broader commitment to ensuring a justice system that is fair, impartial, and accessible to all citizens.
