Ambassador Bazivamo Conveys President Kagame’s Message to Rwandans in Brazzaville

Brazzaville, Republic of Congo - Sunday, December 28, 2025 The Secretary General of the RPF Inkotanyi, Ambassador Christophe Bazivamo, met with Rwandans living in Brazzaville during a working visit to the Republic of Congo, where he conveyed a message from President Paul Kagame. According to a statement released by the RPF Inkotanyi, Amb. Bazivamo delivered the greetings of President Kagame, wishing the Rwandan diaspora good health and continued progress, while outlining the development programs Rwanda has committed to. He emphasized that Rwandans abroad are expected to play a direct role in contributing to the country’s national development. The ambassador reaffirmed that Rwanda continues to support its citizens abroad in their development initiatives and remains ready to assist them whenever possible. He encouraged the diaspora to uphold Rwandan values, particularly teamwork and honesty. Amb. Bazivamo concluded the meeting by extending New Year 2026 wishes to the Rwandan community. During his stay in Brazzaville, the ambassador also participated in the sixth ordinary congress of the ruling Parti Congolais du Travail (PCT), to which he was officially invited. He highlighted the strong people-centered leadership shared by the PCT and the RPF Inkotanyi, expressing willingness to further strengthen relations between the two political parties and enhance bilateral cooperation between Rwanda and Congo-Brazzaville. The two countries maintain longstanding diplomatic and political relations, reinforced by Rwanda’s opening of its embassy in Brazzaville in 2016. In 2011, both nations signed several cooperation agreements covering sectors such as air transport, tourism, energy, security, justice, environment, and fisheries. Bilateral ties deepened further in 2023, when President Denis Sassou Nguesso paid an official visit to Rwanda, shortly after Congo-Brazzaville introduced visa-free entry for Rwandan citizens, allowing visas to be obtained upon arrival and free of charge. During that visit, eight new cooperation agreements were signed, adding to the 25 agreements concluded in April 2022 during President Kagame’s visit to Brazzaville.
