AES Industry Ministers Meet in Ouagadougou to Strengthen Economic Integration
Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, June 14, 2026 - Ministers responsible for industry, commerce, and private sector development from the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) convened in Ouagadougou for their fourth ministerial meeting, reaffirming their commitment to deeper economic integration and regional cooperation.
Mali's Minister of Industry and Commerce, Moussa Alassane Diallo, joined his counterparts from Burkina Faso and Niger at the meeting, which was chaired by Burkina Faso's Prime Minister, Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo.
Leading a delegation that included representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mali, the National Employers' Council of Mali, the Office des Produits Agricoles du Mali (OPAM), and API-Mali, Diallo emphasized Mali's commitment to fostering a competitive private sector and advancing economic cooperation within the AES framework.
In his address, the minister praised the vision of the AES heads of state to establish an integrated, sovereign, and prosperous regional economic space, highlighting the importance of coordinated policies to promote trade, industrial development, and private sector growth across the Confederation.
