Abdou Moumouni University Signs Strategic Partnership with China University of Petroleum
Niamey, December 1, 2025 - Abdou Moumouni University (UAM) of Niamey officially signed a strategic partnership agreement with the China University of Petroleum (East China) during a ceremony held at the Rectorate’s meeting room. The event was attended by university officials from both institutions, a representative from the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technological Innovation, CNPC representatives, and several academic stakeholders.
The partnership aims to strengthen UAM’s scientific and technological capacities in the Mining, Petroleum, and Energy sectors. Both universities committed to promoting:
Academic mobility for students, faculty, and researchers;
Development of joint training programs aligned with emerging energy sector needs;
Collaborative research projects with high innovation potential;
Application of scientific results to inform public policy and drive socio-economic development.
This agreement underscores UAM’s ambition to consolidate a center of scientific expertise, foster innovation and skills transfer, and expand its international academic collaborations, offering new opportunities for both the university community and Niger’s development.
