18th SYNAPPO Scientific Day: Strengthening Healthcare and Social Services in Mali
Bamako, November 29, 2025 - The 18th Scientific Day of the National Union of Private Sector Pharmacists (SYNAPPO) was held under the theme of professional commitment and solidarity, focusing on the creation of a mutual insurance fund and the management of Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO).
The event was chaired by the Minister of Health and Social Development, Colonel-Major Assa Badiallo Touré, and brought together professionals from the healthcare and social services sector to discuss current challenges.
Creation of a mutual insurance fund for pharmacists to better cover social and health risks faced by professionals.
Addressing rejected reimbursement forms under AMO, a critical issue affecting the profitability of pharmacies, requiring coordinated solutions with CANAM and Regional Health Organizations (OGD).
In her address, Colonel-Major Assa Badiallo Touré praised community pharmacists as essential pillars of the healthcare system, emphasizing their commitment, professional rigor, and dedication to public health services, despite occasional delays in invoice payments.
She reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to strengthen financing and regulatory mechanisms, aiming to consolidate a partnership based on trust, transparency, and mutual respect between the government and healthcare professionals.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates of recognition to individuals who have made a significant impact on the pharmaceutical sector, particularly in improving access to medicines for the population.
