15 January 2026; Rwanda and Luxembourg Discuss Financial Cooperation
Rwandan Ambassador to Luxembourg, Munyangaju Aurore Mimosa, has held discussions with Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, Gilles Roth, on strengthening financial cooperation between the two countries. In a statement, Ambassador Munyangaju said the talks focused on deepening bilateral financial ties and reinforcing the strong partnership between Rwanda and Luxembourg. Ambassador Munyangaju arrived in Luxembourg on February 25, 2025, and officially presented her credentials on March 20, 2025. The two countries already maintain strong cooperation. In 2024, the governments of Rwanda and Luxembourg signed a €12 million funding agreement to address the impacts of climate change. In October 2021, both countries also signed a cooperation agreement aimed at promoting the development of the Kigali International Financial Centre, particularly in human resource development, operational capacity building, and positioning the center at an international level. Rwanda and Luxembourg further cooperate through agreements targeting anti-smuggling efforts and tax evasion prevention.
