Zinder, December 2025 - The Niger Equestrian Federation (FENISEQ) organized a series of horse races in Zinder last weekend to honor prominent figures on the eve of the 67th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Niger, celebrated on December 18, 2025.

The event featured awards including the Zinder City Administrator's Prize, His Majesty the Sultan of Damagaram Prize, and the President of the Republic Cup, named after General Abdourahamane Tiani.

Presided over by the Governor of Zinder Region, Colonel Mahaman Sani Massallatchi, the races included horses from stables across Niger, as well as from Nigeria and Sudan. Organizers highlighted the goal of the event: promoting social cohesion through traditional and cultural values.

Over two days, races were conducted over various distances, resulting in victories for multiple horses and some disqualifications, all reflecting fair play and shared enjoyment.

The FENISEQ president commended the organization of the series and invited residents of Damagaram to attend the Grand Prix of the President of the Republic on December 17.
