Walikale: Civil Society Urges Urgent Aid for Displaced Persons in Kibua
Kibua, North Kivu, DRC - On Saturday, 25 October 2025, civil society groups in Kibua village, Walikale territory, issued an urgent appeal to provincial authorities and humanitarian partners for emergency assistance for displaced families.
The displaced, coming from Pinga, Mungazi, Kashebere, and other areas under AFC/M23 control, are reportedly living in extreme distress, lacking food and medical care after rebels looted the Kibua health centre.
Civil society warned of an imminent humanitarian disaster, urging the North Kivu provincial government, UN agencies, and humanitarian NGOs to provide immediate food, medical, and logistical support to the thousands of displaced persons now sheltered in precarious conditions by local communities.
