Uganda reports cyberattacks after Gen Muhoozi’s pro-Israel statement
Kampala, Uganda, March 31, 2026 - Uganda says it has been hit by cyberattacks following public remarks by senior military leader Muhoozi Kainerugaba expressing support for Israel in its ongoing conflict with Iran. In a post on X, Gen. Muhoozi said the country experienced intensified cyber activity shortly after his comments and announced that investigations were underway to identify those responsible. He warned that Uganda would take strong measures against perpetrators or any entities found to be supporting such attacks. Authorities have not identified the source of the cyberattacks. However, the statement comes amid heightened global tensions linked to the Israel-Iran conflict. Officials say cybersecurity defenses are being reinforced as inquiries continue.
