Timbuktu Hosts Masterclass on National Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation
Timbuktu, December 27, 2025 Ms. Oumou Sall Seck, Minister of National Entrepreneurship, Employment, and Vocational Training, and President of the Trait d’Union Movement, led a masterclass on the National Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation at the Ahmed Baba Institute. The session brought together a high-level audience including regional governors, prominent figures, senior civil servants, administrative and traditional authorities, as well as community representatives, women, and youth from various districts of Timbuktu and from Taoudéni. In her address, Minister Sall Seck highlighted the importance of endogenous mechanisms for conciliation and mediation as the cornerstone for building a sincere, lasting, and authentically Malian peace. The masterclass served as both a platform for discussion and capacity-building, reinforcing the principles of reconciliation, social cohesion, and national unity in the region. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting local solutions for peace and reconciliation, ensuring that cultural legitimacy and community involvement are central to the process of restoring and sustaining peace in Mali.
