Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to Visit Rwanda
Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye is scheduled to make a working visit to Rwanda on October 17, 2025, following an invitation from President Paul Kagame, according to an official statement. The visit was approved during a Cabinet meeting in Senegal on Thursday.
The trip underscores ongoing efforts by both nations to strengthen bilateral ties. President Kagame previously became the first Rwandan head of state to visit Senegal in May 2024, shortly after assuming office, and has made multiple visits since. His most recent visit to Senegal was from August 31 to September 1, 2025, for the African Food Summit.
After Rwanda, President Faye is expected to travel to Kenya from October 19 to 21, 2025, as part of his regional engagement tour.
