The Chamber of Deputies has announced a nationwide tour to assess Government programs related to urban development, housing, and land use planning. The inspections will take place from 24-29 November 2025 across all provinces and from 5-6 December 2025 in Kigali City, according to a statement released by Parliament.

Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Kazarwa Gertrude, underscored the importance of direct engagement with citizens to strengthen Government initiatives.“The Parliament supports efforts to improve urban development, housing and land use programs based on the needs of the population. Visiting citizens and speaking to them face-to-face helps us enhance our monitoring and support for programs that contribute to sustainable development,” she said.

Parliament indicated that Deputies will visit 237 Sectors, observing both successful projects-such as urban expansion, housing initiatives, and efficient energy use-and areas where development remains limited. The goal is to work with district and sector leaders to identify solutions and accelerate progress.

During the tour, Deputies will also hold community meetings to encourage residents to settle in designated safe zones, avoid risky locations, and participate actively in maintaining public infrastructure designed to improve their quality of life.

In addition, the Deputies will take part in community work (Umuganda) at the end of November 2025, joining residents in activities aimed at enhancing local development, sanitation, and security within their communities.
