Rwanda Defence Forces Complete Five-Month Advanced Military Training Program
GATSIBO, July 10, 2026 - The Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) have concluded a five-month high-level military training program aimed at strengthening soldiers’ operational skills, leadership abilities, and professional capacity. The training, which ended on July 9, 2026, was conducted at the Gabiro Military Training Center in Gatsibo District, bringing together military personnel for an intensive program focused on improving their ability to carry out RDF responsibilities. The closing ceremony was presided over by RDF Chief of Staff Gen. Mubarakh Muganga, who represented Commander-in-Chief President Paul Kagame. Gen. Muganga congratulated the graduates for their discipline, commitment, and performance throughout the course, urging them to maintain professionalism and pursue excellence in their future duties. He reminded the graduates that military training is designed to prepare soldiers to operate under challenging conditions and develop the physical, mental, and professional strength required to serve effectively. The RDF Chief of Staff emphasized that soldiers must continue delivering results through discipline, ethical conduct, innovation, and responsible use of available resources. He also praised the leadership and instructors at the Gabiro Military Training Center for their continued efforts in developing the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of Rwanda’s armed forces. According to Gen. Muganga, such training programs remain essential in producing competent military leaders and personnel capable of serving the RDF and contributing to national security.
