Rwanda and DRC to Sign Final Peace Agreement in Washington on December 4

Washington, December 1, 2025 - The White House has confirmed that Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will sign a final peace agreement on December 4, 2025. The announcement was made by White House Spokesperson Caroline Leavitt during a press conference.

Leavitt stated, “On Thursday, President Trump will host the Presidents of Rwanda and the DRC, who signed historic peace and economic agreements.”

Last week, Presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Félix Tshisekedi of the DRC confirmed their readiness to travel to the United States for the ceremony, expressing confidence in the prospects for lasting peace.

The United States has also invited regional leaders to witness the signing, including the Presidents of Kenya and Burundi. Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye is scheduled to travel to Washington today to attend the event.

Additionally, the DRC government has dispatched a high-level delegation, including the President of the National Assembly and several ministers, to participate in the ceremony.
