Bamako, February 16, 2026 - Prime Minister and Head of Government Major General Abdoulaye Maïga conducted visits Thursday to key storage facilities for essential goods, as part of efforts to guarantee availability and accessibility of critical products for the Malian population. The visits were carried out under directives from Transitional President and Head of State, Army General Assimi Goïta, aimed at strengthening food security and market stability. Warehouses Stocked with Essential Goods At the Mamadou Diarra S.A. warehouses, the Prime Minister observed stocks of: 15,000 tons of sugar 45,000 tons of rice During his visit to Gaakoye et Frères establishments, he noted large quantities of rice, sugar, and cooking oil, confirming sufficient supplies for market distribution. Government Commended for Efforts Major General Maïga praised the Government’s coordination, particularly through the Ministry of Industry and Trade, for ensuring efficient supply chains and supporting the population’s access to essential goods during a critical period.
