President Tiani Presides Over Opening of 2025-2026 Judicial Year in Niamey

Niamey, December 12, 2025 - His Excellency General Abdourahamane Tiani, President of the Republic, Head of State, and President of the High Council of Justice, presided over the official opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 judicial year this Friday at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center in Niamey.

The ceremony marks a key moment in the national judicial calendar, symbolizing the formal launch of the new judicial year and reaffirming the commitment of the highest state authorities to an independent and credible judicial system that serves citizens.

The event featured the presence of Mr. Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, Minister of Justice and Human Rights of Burkina Faso, as guest of honor, highlighting the fraternal relations and judicial cooperation between Niger and Burkina Faso.

Also in attendance were Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, members of the National Committee for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP), government officials including the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, the Keeper of the Seals, and the Minister Delegate for Relations with Institutions.

The ceremony was further attended by presidents of the institutions of the Republic, diplomatic and consular heads, representatives of international organizations, magistrates, and other guests, giving the event both national and international significance.
