DOSSO / TAHOUA / AGADEZ, Niger - President Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani has intensified his national tour with a series of high-profile engagements across three strategic regions, reinforcing the transitional government’s dual agenda of security consolidation and regional development. The tour, which has rapidly evolved into a cornerstone of the regime’s political strategy, showcased a deliberate effort to strengthen ties with local populations while addressing urgent security and governance challenges.

DOSSO REGION - Border Security and Traditional Endorsement (November 8-9)

President Tiani concluded his visit to southwestern Niger with a decisive security review. On November 9, he presided over the Dosso Regional Security Council, where he assessed border dynamics with Benin, focusing on cross-border criminality and the operational readiness of security forces deployed in this key corridor.

During a major address in Gaya on November 8, delivered in the Djerma language, the Head of State explained the rationale behind the Benin border closure, emphasizing national security concerns while acknowledging the economic impact on border communities. His visit received notable cultural resonance when the Canton Chief of Gaya presented him with two symbolic crocodiles, a gesture signaling strong traditional endorsement within the Dendi cultural sphere.

TAHOUA REGION - Mass Mobilization and Military Morale (November 9-10)

The President’s arrival in Tahoua was marked by unprecedented crowds, stretching from Koujack to the regional capital, where cultural delegations celebrated the visit with elaborate traditional performances.

On November 10, President Tiani visited the 42nd Combined Arms Battalion, where he delivered a morale-boosting speech, declaring:

“The Defense and Security Forces, as the nation’s first bastion and pillar, have not and will never kneel before the enemy.”

He later chaired the Tahoua Regional Security Council, receiving operational updates on counter-terrorist efforts in Tillia and Tchintabaraden, before addressing a packed stadium. He denounced internal actors accused of collusion with jihadists or bandit groups, asserting that such elements "will not triumph over the united and determined Nigerien people."

AGADEZ REGION - Security Consolidation and Landmark Economic Declarations (November 11-15)

President Tiani’s extended mission in Agadez, Niger’s northern geopolitical crossroads, was met with vibrant traditional ceremonies, including youyous and biyanou chants, with thousands lining the route from Tamaya onward.

A crucial Regional Security Council was held on November 12 at the Governorate, bringing together Niger’s top security leadership - including Minister of State for National Defense General Salifou Modi and Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Moussa Salaou Barmou. Discussions centered on the evolving threats in the uranium-rich north, a region pivotal for both national security and economic sovereignty.

During a major public rally at the Aboubacar Djibo Traditional Wrestling Arena, the President made some of his most consequential policy declarations to date:
