President Félix Tshisekedi Deplores Unsanitary Conditions and Traffic Gridlocks
Kinshasa - Addressing both houses of Parliament on December 8, 2025, President Félix Tshisekedi denounced poor waste management in Kinshasa, which he said caused clogged sewers, severe flooding, and traffic jams that paralyze traffic during the rainy season.
He stressed that this situation poses a challenge to national governance, endangers the health of residents, and degrades their quality of life. The Head of State also expressed concern about the resurgence of banditry in the capital and other cities, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening security and implementing structural reforms.
Despite these challenges, he noted positive signs on the economic front, highlighting the recent stability of the Congolese franc.
