On Thursday, His Excellency Mr. Angus McKee, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Mali, paid a courtesy visit to Colonel-Major Assa Badiallo Touré, Minister of Health and Social Development.
The bilateral meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in health and humanitarian sectors, with particular attention to ongoing efforts to improve access to healthcare and combat infectious diseases across Mali.
The United Kingdom, a key donor to global health initiatives including GAVI and the Global Fund, reaffirmed its commitment to support Mali’s health system, emphasizing sustainable partnerships and capacity-building to enhance national preparedness and response capabilities.
Colonel-Major Touré highlighted the government’s priorities in expanding healthcare access, particularly in underserved regions, and underscored the importance of continued international support to meet the country’s pressing health and humanitarian needs.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship between Mali and the United Kingdom, particularly in areas critical to human development and social resilience.
