Lubero, North Kivu, DRC - A series of attacks attributed to Ugandan Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels left at least twelve civilians dead and several homes burned between Tuesday and Thursday, October 30, in the towns of Mulunguma, Gbado, and Pangoyi, over 100 kilometers from Lubero town.

According to Lubero territory administrator Colonel Alain Kiwewa, the assailants looted a local clinic and pharmacy, abducted several civilians, and stole livestock. A rapid intervention by joint FARDC-UPDF forces freed the hostages and recovered the stolen animals.

The attacks, which claimed six lives in Gbado, four in Mulunguma, and two in Pangoyi, underscore the ongoing insecurity in eastern DRC despite the presence of coalition forces. Authorities continue to call for heightened vigilance and stronger security measures to protect vulnerable communities in the region.
