Niger: Towards More Coherent and Impactful Government Communication

Par Amina Kabasele2 min de lectureEnglish

Tahoua, December 10, 2025 - Gathering in Tahoua since Wednesday, December 10, 2025, communication officers from Niger's ministries and institutions are participating in a strategic meeting dedicated to the issues and challenges of government communication. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to modernize public action and strengthen the bond between the State and its citizens.

These discussions have allowed for an in-depth review of current practices, the identification of individual and collective shortcomings, and the initiation of reflection on the levers to be activated to build more coherent, more digital, and more resilient public communication. The discussions have highlighted the need for better coordination and constant adaptation to new information practices.

This consultation framework is led by the Ministry of Communication and New Information Technologies (MCNTI), in partnership with UNICEF Niger. It reflects the shared desire to position government ministries and public institutions as key players in communication, capable of producing credible and accessible content rooted in local realities.

Through this approach, participants are laying the foundations for a more reliable, responsive, and citizen-centric information ecosystem. The stated objective is clear: to strengthen citizens' trust through effective government communication, because better communication means better services.
