Niger Security Forces Dismantle Criminal Networks in Tahoua and Dosso

Tahoua, Niger - Nigerien security forces have successfully dismantled criminal networks in Tahoua and Dosso, highlighting the government’s intensified efforts against organized crime.

In Tahoua, the Departmental Directorate of the National Police (DDPN) of Tchintabaraden neutralized a gang involved in armed robbery, forgery, and criminal association on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Three Nigerien nationals, aged 17 to 19, were apprehended at the city market with a Toyota Hilux sporting a fake license plate and stolen goods, including high-value fabrics. Investigations, aided by data recovered from their mobile phones, linked the group to several armed robberies along the Tchintabaraden-Assamaka axis.

Meanwhile, in Dosso’s Gaya department, the Border Police Post (PPF) of Sabon Birni dismantled a criminal network responsible for an armed robbery that saw 52 million CFA francs stolen in the village of Tounouga. The unit also seized 160 bricks of Indian hemp, valued at 16 million CFA francs, on Sunday, November 2, 2025. The suspects and the seized drugs were presented to local administrative, judicial, and security authorities on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. The Prefect of Gaya awarded the unit a formal testimony of satisfaction for its contribution to national security.
