Niger Expands Local Security and Civil Services in Hamdallaye

Hamdallaye, Niger - In a move to strengthen state presence in rural areas, the commune of Hamdallaye inaugurated a fully operational police station on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The ceremony, presided over by Delegated Administrator Captain Inoussa Harouna Mahaman, brought together traditional and religious leaders, civil society representatives, and members of the diaspora. Captain Mahaman emphasized the importance of collaboration between local residents and the new police force to enhance community security.

In a complementary announcement, the Canton Chief of Hamdallaye confirmed that the commune will now offer national identity card services, previously available only in larger urban centers. Officials described the dual initiative as a significant step in extending state services, improving local security, and facilitating access to essential administrative rights for rural citizens.
