Niger and Chad Strengthen Regional Ties Through High-Level Diplomacy
N’Djamena, Chad - In a display of intra-regional solidarity, Niger’s Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine conducted a high-level working visit to Chad on Friday, October 31, 2025. He was received in a private audience by President Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno at the Presidential Palace.
Prime Minister Zeine led a substantial delegation, including Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Colonel-Major Abdourahamane Amadou, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakary Yaou Sangaré, and senior technical experts and administrators. The visit coincided with the third session of the Great Mixed Commission for Chad-Niger Cooperation.
Discussions focused on harmonizing development priorities, enhancing cross-border security collaboration, managing shared climate challenges, and consolidating economic partnerships. Speaking on behalf of President Tiani, Prime Minister Zeine reaffirmed Niger’s commitment to deepening the fraternal ties between the two nations.
Observers note that this collaboration serves as a stabilizing pillar for the central Sahel region, emphasizing a partnership guided by shared interests and resilience, independent of broader regional blocs.
