Nduhungirehe Accuses International Community of Ignoring FARDC Airstrikes

December 15, 2025 - Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe, has criticized the international community for what he described as silence over airstrikes carried out by the Congolese army in areas controlled by the AFC/M23.

Reacting on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Nduhungirehe said Sukhoi-25 aircraft and FARDC drones bombed the Rwitsankuku area on the morning of December 15, killing civilians, notably in Banyamulenge-inhabited villages in South Kivu.

He accused Western countries of failing to condemn what he called repeated and deliberate attacks on densely populated areas, while reacting only when the AFC/M23 retaliates and later withdraws.

Air and drone strikes in Banyamulenge areas have intensified in recent days following the defeat of Burundian, FARDC, Wazalendo and FDLR forces in the Rusizi Valley.
