Minister Mamou Daffé Honors Mariam Bagayoko, Queen of Goussoubala

Bamako, January 22, 2026 - Mali’s Minister of Crafts, Culture, Hospitality, and Tourism, Mamou Daffé, received renowned artist Mariam Bagayoko, known as the Queen of Goussoubala, following her victory at the 2025 Aga Khan Award for Music in London. Accompanied by a large delegation, the artist presented her trophy to the minister during the meeting. Selected from more than 400 candidates from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, Mariam Bagayoko received the Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest distinction, in recognition of her lifelong dedication to her people and her art.
