Minister Kassogué Visits Victims of Human Trafficking and Launches Fourth Edition

Bamako, le 12 février 2026 - As part of the 4th annual Justice Week, Minister of Justice and Human Rights Mamoudou Kassogué visited the Enda Mali reception center in Boulkassoumbougou-Kouloubléni on Thursday, February 12, 2026, to show the State’s solidarity with victims of human trafficking.

During the visit, the Minister toured facilities, including dormitories, restrooms, staff offices, and the courtyard, and listened to poignant testimonies from residents. Deeply moved by accounts of sexual exploitation and fraud, he condemned this “silent tragedy” and promised rigorous sanctions against perpetrators, while commending the remarkable work of partner organizations. He also urged stakeholders to guarantee respect for human dignity in Mali.

Earlier the same day, Minister Kassogué officially launched the fourth edition of Justice Week at the Bamako International Conference Center (CICB). The event brought together government members, technical and financial partners, judicial stakeholders, and other prominent figures, under the theme “Justice in the Era of Implementing and Strengthening Reforms.”

Dr. Aboubacar Sidiki Diarrah, chairman of the organizing committee, highlighted that “there is no growth without reforms, nor reforms without growth.” Established in 2022 by the transitional government, Justice Week aims to bring justice closer to citizens, promote a more efficient public justice system, and restore public trust.

In his address, Minister Kassogué emphasized that justice is no longer a silent institution, underscoring the importance of transparency and accessibility. He added that legal professionals must not lecture citizens if they themselves openly break the law, reaffirming the commitment to a more accessible and reliable justice system for all Malians.
