Maniema: Over 300 Participants Attend 2nd Mining, Energy, and Infrastructure Conference

Kindu, Maniema, DRC - The second conference on mining, energy, and infrastructure in Maniema was held on November 3, 2025, bringing together over 300 participants, including five government ministers, members of parliament, and representatives from both public and private sectors.

Led by Governor Mussa Kabwankubi, the conference aimed to review progress since the first edition, identify ongoing challenges, and strengthen governance in key sectors to accelerate socio-economic development across the province.

Minister of Entrepreneurship Justin Kalumba Mwana Ngongo called on residents to actively participate in transforming Maniema’s mining and energy potential. Civil society representatives, including Stéphane Kamundala, urged authorities to enforce the mining code and implement concrete solutions to challenges in energy and local governance.
