Malian Air Force Destroys Three Terrorist Sites Near Sikasso
Sikasso, December 14, 2025 - Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) aircraft have struck and destroyed three terrorist positions located north and northeast of Sikasso.
According to the General Staff, the operation was successful, and the forces were commended for their effectiveness. The statement also reaffirmed FAMa’s commitment to combating terrorism nationwide.
This operation highlights the expansion of FAMa’s strike capabilities into the southern region, which, while traditionally less affected, has become increasingly threatened. The strikes could prevent armed groups from encroaching on key agricultural areas, helping to safeguard the rural economy and support national development objectives.
Neutral observers caution that such operations should consider potential environmental and civilian impacts, advocating for community resilience programs to mitigate socio-economic vulnerabilities that could be exploited by jihadist groups.
