Mali-UK Dialogue on Security and Stability

On November 10, Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mali, held a telephone discussion with the Right Honourable Baroness Chapman, Minister of State for Development and African Affairs of the United Kingdom.

During the call, Mr. Diop outlined the situation in Bamako and across Mali, highlighting hydrocarbon supply disruptions. He detailed the government's ongoing efforts to secure the territory and ensure regular supply, while denouncing a hostile media campaign against Mali. He reaffirmed the authorities' commitment to security, territorial integrity, and protection of people and property.

Baroness Chapman expressed the United Kingdom's solidarity with Mali and praised the government’s measures to restore normalcy. Both sides emphasized the value of a direct, frank, and constructive dialogue. Minister Diop reiterated Mali’s commitment to mutual-respect-based dialogue, while commending the UK for seeking information directly from national authorities.
