Mali: Panel of Democrats Condemns Massacres by Malian Army and Afrika Korps in Timbuktu Region

The Panel of Democrats, composed of members of the Malian opposition, expressed profound outrage at the massacres of November 25 and 26, 2025, committed by a joint patrol of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) and Russian elements of the Afrika Korps.

These attacks resulted in 14 civilian deaths and several disappearances in the Timbuktu region, notably in Razelma, Amaranane, Tissikoreye, Émimalane, Toroma, Takara, Zouéra, and Nijhaltate.

The Panel calls on the Attorney General of the Transition and the United Nations to open a formal investigation.

Unequivocal condemnation of summary executions and destruction of civilian property.

Independent international investigation and prosecution for war crimes.

Condemnation of the scorched-earth policy pursued by Africa Corps since 2024.

Immediate protection of civilians, particularly the nomads of Lake Faguibine.

Solidarity with the families of the victims.
