Koussan Commune - January 2-3, 2026 The security situation in the Koussan commune is deteriorating. On Friday, January 2, 2026, at around 10:00 PM, a terrorist attack targeted a local mining site. The following day, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at around 6:00 PM, attackers struck again, setting fire to the Forestry and Water Resources office and the Flamana Customs office. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers gathered at the Flamana mosque before carrying out the attacks. No presence of armed forces has been reported in the area, leaving residents vulnerable and raising concerns about further attacks.
