Bamako, March 9, 2026 - Professor Bouréma Kansaye, Mali’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received Li Xiang, the 18th Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Mali, in an official audience on Monday. During the meeting, Kansaye congratulated Ambassador Li on his appointment and extended a warm welcome to Mali, emphasizing the country’s openness to strengthened bilateral ties. The minister highlighted the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Mali and China, citing cultural and educational initiatives such as the Confucius Centre, which promotes Chinese language and culture, and the Luban Workshop, which supports professional training for young Malians.
