Kinshasa: Former U.S. Envoy Peter Pham Meets DRC Defense Officials to Discuss Security and Veterans’ Welfare

Kinshasa, DRC - Former U.S. Special Envoy for the Great Lakes and Sahel region, Peter Pham, held talks with Congolese defense officials during a visit to Kinshasa on November 3 and 4, focusing on efforts to strengthen national security and improve the welfare of veterans.

Pham met with Deputy Prime Minister of National Defense Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita and Minister Delegate for Veterans Affairs Eliezer Ntambwe to discuss the security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, international defense cooperation, and the professionalization of the Armed Forces (FARDC).

During the meeting, Pham proposed initiatives to consolidate strategic partnerships aimed at achieving lasting peace in the region. He also praised the Congolese government’s efforts to honor military veterans and recognize their contribution to the country’s stability.
