Kandadji Dam Project Accelerates to Boost Energy, Agriculture, and Water Security
NIAMEY, Niger - The Kandadji Dam project, a cornerstone of Niger’s energy, water, and food security strategy, is entering an accelerated phase.
Once completed, the project will provide an additional 130 MW of electricity, irrigate 45,000 hectares of agricultural land, and regulate the Niger River for multipurpose use, enhancing both economic and environmental resilience.
The government has adopted an integrated planning approach, coordinating national agencies with international partners to address historical delays and ensure efficient implementation.
