JNIM Claims Ambush Against Russian-Backed African Corps
Ségou, January 25, 2026 - The Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) reported that it carried out an ambush against a patrol of the Russian-backed African Corps east of Djabaly in the Ségou region. According to JNIM, the operation resulted in the seizure of six motorcycles, the destruction of another, and the recovery of military equipment.
