Djugu, Ituri - November 17, 2025. More than 1,800 displaced people have returned to the villages of Limani, Iga-Barrière, Nizi, and Mangala in Djugu territory following a relative improvement in security, according to a statement from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

This return has enabled the gradual reopening of schools and markets and aligns with the start of the agricultural season, allowing families to resume cultivation of their fields.

However, OCHA warns that the security situation remains fragile, noting ongoing food insecurity and the need for continued humanitarian assistance. The agency stresses that strengthened protection measures are essential to ensure the stability and resilience of these vulnerable communities.
