Par Sarah Ndaya2 min de lectureEnglish

In a statement issued on 3 October 2025, MONUSCO strongly condemned the violence that occurred on 2 October in the territory of Djugu (Ituri), which caused the deaths of more than thirteen people, including internally displaced persons and seven members of armed groups. The clashes involved elements of CODECO and the armed group Zaïre à Maze, while gunfire attributed to unidentified armed men in Gina caused the displacement of approximately 2,500 civilians to the MONUSCO base.

The UN mission has strengthened its presence on the ground, conducted patrols to protect civilians and called on the Congolese authorities to conduct impartial investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice, while urging armed groups to respect the Aru II Peace Agreement and immediately cease hostilities against the population.
