Niamey, December 10, 2025 - The Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Center in Niamey hosted a major meeting on private investment and strategic partnerships, organized by the Nigerien Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment and Strategic Projects (ANPIPS) in collaboration with the United Nations system in Niger. The event brought together domestic and foreign investors, government officials, diplomats, and representatives from the private sector to discuss investment opportunities, review ongoing reforms, and strengthen sustainable strategic alliances.

The Governor of Niamey, Major General Assoumane Abdou Harouna, emphasized the importance of mobilizing investments in priority areas, including the improvement of the business climate, modernization of infrastructure, and development of strategic sectors such as agriculture, energy, industry, and livestock. He stressed the need to transform investment opportunities into tangible projects and sustainable jobs.

The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Niger, Mama Keita, reaffirmed the alignment of this initiative with the country’s vision for economic sovereignty and sustainable development. She underscored the importance of partnerships built on trust between government, investors, and international partners, and called for projects with a strong socio-economic impact.

Minister Soumana Boubacar, Chief of Staff to the President, presented the reforms undertaken to enhance Niger’s attractiveness to investors, including simplified administrative procedures, a one-stop shop for the Investment Code, tax incentives, and strengthened public-private partnerships. The minister highlighted security, economic sovereignty, and agricultural development as key strategic priorities for the country.

Established in February 2025 under the direct authority of the President, ANPIPS is positioned as the central entry point for investments in Niger, particularly in sectors such as agribusiness, renewable energy, infrastructure, and digital services. The meeting marked a significant step in promoting responsible investments, strengthening economic partnerships, and advancing Niger’s sustainable development agenda.
