Imminent resignation of Germaine Tshinyama: a turning point in the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly

Par Amina Kabasele2 min de lectureEnglish

A motion to remove Germaine Tshinyama, Vice-President of the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly, from office was tabled on 9 October 2025. This motion, initiated by MP Steve Mulumba, calls for a plenary session to be convened to examine the proposal in accordance with the rules of procedure of the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly.

More than 15 signatures have already been collected in support of this initiative. Germaine Tshinyama, who has been acting as interim president since Lévi Mbuta's temporary withdrawal for health reasons, could thus see her term cut short, marking a significant turning point in the provincial governance of the Congolese capital.
