Par Sarah Ndaya3 min de lectureEnglish

Kigali, January 8, 2026 - I&M Bank Rwanda has entered into a strategic partnership with Toyota Rwanda Ltd to help customers acquire vehicles through affordable financing and exclusive price concessions. The partnership agreement was signed on January 8, 2026, at Toyota Rwanda’s headquarters in Karuruma, Kigali City. Toyota Rwanda is the authorized distributor of Toyota vehicles and accessories in the country. Under the agreement, I&M Bank customers - as well as prospective clients - will be able to purchase Toyota vehicles through soft loans and preferential pricing, making car ownership more accessible, particularly for individuals with limited financial resources. Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Head of Retail Banking and Branches at I&M Bank Rwanda, Yves Kayihura, said the initiative aims to remove financial barriers and promote broader access to reliable transportation. “This partnership will enable our customers to access quality vehicles while the bank uses the car itself as collateral, eliminating the need for additional assets,” Kayihura said. “We are also providing insurance services, allowing customers to complete the entire process through one institution in a short time.” He added that I&M Bank has a dedicated car lending department and an integrated insurance system to ensure a seamless customer experience. Toyota Rwanda’s Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Kanyandekwe, said the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to improving customer service and strengthening its collaboration with financial institutions. “This partnership will make it easier for customers to receive discounts on the vehicles they want and obtain them quickly,” Kanyandekwe said. “It also demonstrates our desire to continue enhancing our services while maintaining a strong relationship with I&M Bank.” He further noted that Toyota Rwanda remains responsible for post-sale vehicle servicing and currently offers a range of 13 different vehicle models to meet diverse customer needs.
