DRC: President Tshisekedi Creates Permanent Task Force to Combat Sexual Violence

Kinshasa, DRC - On Friday, 24 October 2025, President Félix Tshisekedi established a permanent task force to evaluate and strengthen the Democratic Republic of Congo’s efforts in combating sexual violence linked to armed conflict.

Coordinated by the presidential coordinator in charge of youth, combating violence against women, and human trafficking, the task force will regularly convene representatives from relevant institutions to monitor and enhance government action in this critical area.

The announcement was made public during the broadcast of the 64th Council of Ministers meeting on national television, signaling the administration’s commitment to systematic oversight and improved protection for victims.
