Kinshasa, DRC - Jacques Djoli, rapporteur of the National Assembly, announced on November 4 that the election of the new Speaker of the lower house, along with the deputy rapporteur, is scheduled for November 13, 2025.

The decision, made during a meeting of the bureau and the conference of presidents, sets the stage for the succession of Vital Kamerhe. MP Aimé Boji has been designated as the sole candidate of the Sacred Union of the Nation for the Speaker position.

Three candidates are contesting the deputy rapporteur role: Clotilde Mutita (Together for the Republic), Gratien Iracan, and Christelle Vuanga (independent). Candidate registration will remain open for three days under Article 27 of the rules of procedure, followed by a campaign on November 11-12. The formal plenary vote on November 13 will officially invest the newly elected members and allow the resumption of parliamentary work.
