DRC: Mukoko Samba Assures Senate on Congolese Franc Stability and Protecting Purchasing Power
Kinshasa, DRC - On November 4, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Daniel Mukoko Samba reassured the Senate of the government’s commitment to maintaining the stability of the Congolese franc and safeguarding citizens’ purchasing power.
Responding to questions from Senator Janvier Mwisha Kasiwa regarding the gap between the currency’s apparent appreciation and the economic realities faced by the population, Mukoko Samba cited measures including budgetary discipline, coordination with the Central Bank, mobilization of domestic revenue, and ongoing structural reforms.
