Kinshasa, November 19, 2025 - The Democratic Republic of Congo’s mining sector continues to attract significant foreign investment, with an average of $2 billion per year over the past two decades, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, Daniel Mukoko Samba.

He highlighted that this investment has enabled the country to surpass 3 million tons of copper production, making the DRC the second-largest copper producer in the world.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Emir of Qatar’s visit to Kinshasa, Mukoko Samba encouraged Qatari investors to prioritize integrated regional projects and enhance internal connectivity and logistics to maximize the country’s economic potential. The remarks followed the signing of letters of intent with Al Mansour Holding for a $21 billion investment portfolio, underscoring the continued attractiveness of the Congolese mining sector to international investors.
