DRC: Interior Minister Shabani Calls for Suspension of No-Confidence Motions During Wartime
Kinshasa, DRC - On November 5, 2025, Interior Minister Jacquemain Shabani urged the suspension of no-confidence motions and petitions in provincial assemblies during wartime, emphasizing the need to preserve institutional stability amid recurring political crises.
Speaking at a meeting with governors, vice-governors, and members of provincial assembly bureaus, Shabani called on officials to ensure transparent and rigorous management of public resources and to maintain continuous dialogue with their assemblies. He also warned that the central government could invoke strong constitutional measures to prevent situations of ungovernability.
