DRC, IMF Conclude Second Review of Preliminary Agreement Amid Economic Resilience
Kinshasa, DRC - On November 5, 2025, the Congolese government and International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff concluded the second review of their Preliminary Agreement, following a mission led by Calixte Ahokpossi. Discussions were also held in Haut-Katanga province.
The review highlighted the resilience of the Congolese economy, with projected growth exceeding 5% for 2025 and 2026 and inflation reduced to 2.5% in October. Both parties praised fiscal discipline, coordinated economic policies, and accelerated structural reforms, while noting the continuing impact of conflict in the eastern regions on public finances and humanitarian needs.
A report summarizing the findings will be submitted to the IMF Executive Board for consideration under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and the Climate Resilience Facility (CRF).
