Par Jean-Marc Okito2 min de lectureEnglish

Kinshasa, DRC - The European Union announced on November 24, 2025, the provision of €10 million in additional funding to the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC). This funding is earmarked for the acquisition of non-lethal military equipment aimed at enhancing operational capacities, particularly in the areas of command and control, medical assistance, and surveillance patrols along river borders.

The first deliveries of this equipment are expected by the end of 2026. This contribution increases the total support provided by the European Peace Mechanism since 2023 to €30 million, complementing prior assistance to the 31st Rapid Reaction Brigade in Kindu.

The European Union emphasized that this funding is part of a broader effort to support security sector reform in the DRC, strengthen civilian protection missions, and restore state authority in conflict-affected zones, reinforcing the country's efforts to stabilize eastern DRC.
