DRC: 96 vehicles handed over to security services to strengthen protection of the population
On 2 October 2025, the Congolese government, through Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Jacquemain Shabani, handed over 96 Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 vehicles to the security services to improve the mobility and effectiveness of the forces in protecting the population and their property. Of these vehicles, 70 were allocated to the Congolese National Police, 12 to the territorial administrators and provincial police stations of the provinces of Lomami and Sankuru, while other beneficiaries included the ANR, the DGM and the National Cyber Defence Council.
This donation is part of the security services modernisation programme and was accompanied by a sample of weapons equipment, with the minister calling for responsible use that respects human rights despite budgetary constraints and tensions in the east of the country.
